At New Forest Events, I’m quietly obsessed with the details nobody notices, because they went right. The timeline that keeps everything moving without making the day feel rigid. Suppliers who know exactly where to be and when. A well-briefed team, a bar that never misses a beat, food arriving beautifully, entertainment ready at precisely the right moment, and a plan B tucked away in case the weather develops opinions.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, but my job is to make it look simple. I love the planning, the problem-solving and that brilliant moment when everything comes together and guests can simply enjoy themselves.

Who I am

I’m Nova Milesko, founder of New Forest Events. I trained at Leiths and I’m a professional forager, so the food side comes a deep love of food and supplier list that reflects that. Before events I was a director at CNN International, then spent years producing festivals across Hampshire, the New Forest and beyond. I also cook and host yoga retreats, which is where I learnt the part of this job you can’t teach: how to read a room, slow it down, and look after people properly. Retreats made me kind, in the practical sense: noticing who’s on their own, who’s too cold, who hasn’t eaten.

Why me

• It’s one team, not five. Chef-led, so catering, bar, styling and coordination all sit under one contract and one point of contact. No chasing four suppliers who don’t talk to each other.
• I’ve done harder days than yours. Live television, festival sites, retreats, farm marquees that needed rescuing the day before. Weather, timings, guest numbers: I’ve met all of it, and none of it rattles me.
• I know this patch properly. The venues, the farms, the growers, the bands and the local licensing. Real recommendations, not a directory.
• Honest advice. If something’s a waste of your budget, I’ll say so, and I’ll spend it where your guests will actually notice.
• Support, not takeover. You make the decisions. I hold the logistics, the timings and the details, so you get to be a guest at your own wedding.
